Wilde House Paper is a trendy, Californian based stationery brand which verges on the hipster aesthetic (but in a good way). Back in August 2019 they launched a quarterly stationery subscription box, which was unfortunately short lived.
However, I nabbed a box - and as you know I love stationery and I particularly like reviewing stationery subscription boxes. If you would like to see all of my reviews and unboxings in one place you can see them here.
I was excited about this box as it promised a curated box on the intersection of art and stationery. It was quite expensive (over $200 for the annual subscription I believe, which was refunded once they decided to leave the subscription model). And as an additional pain/expense I was hit with customs!
I did like what was included in this debut box:
My favourite item was this weekly desk pad planner, made of recycled paper and with a gorgeous gold embossing of the text. I like how it's quite compact and little, but with a good layout.
Also included was a "Wellness Journal" - this is where the hipster element comes in a bit - but I don't mind it. It is a nice notebook with a couple of unobtrusive wellness prompts and it looks handstitched as well.
The big ticket item in the box - and the "art" element - was this piece of bold line art. Which is quite pleasing, although it's disappointing it isn't signed or marked in anyway as I could whip one up myself! I'm planning on framing this and hanging it in the office or bathroom.
The final item was some greeting cards, again these are excellent quality. I liked the design and the texture is lovely. I always use up cards so I like having something a little special and different in the stationery cupboard!
I really liked how you got substantial, decent standalone items opposed to a million post-it notes or similar!
Overall, the contents of the box were really quite nice albeit at a higher price point. If you would like to see me unboxing them in full you can check out my YouTube video here.
If you want to have a look around their website, you can see it here.
