ccWhen we visited Palermo last year one of the more unusual places we visited was the Palazzo dei Normanni, also known as the Royal Palace of Palermo. The real showpiece of the palace is this amazing gold and heavily decorated chapel within it.
It was stunning, so detailed and was a lot to take in. Really something special.
There were other rooms to explore but were unfortunately closed when we visited due to COVID.
One of the other highlights is also the very cute and old gardens at the back of the palace - with this interesting big tree! Nice place for a little drink as well.
Absolutely mesmerizing! The Palazzo dei Normanni's ornate chapel is a true masterpiece. COVID might have limited our visit, but the charming gardens and that intriguing big tree made it an unforgettable experience. #PalermoGems #TravelAdventures
