Uig Sands beach on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland is one of the most vast beaches I've ever been to in my life!
To take of advantage of the long daylight hours in the summer in Lewis we decided to head to the beach in the evening - about 8pm at night and we stayed and played with the dogs for a couple of hours.
Because it was late it was lovely and quiet, we practically had the whole beach to ourselves and some random cows who trotted around on the other end. We were able to park right behind the sand and then we were on the beach!
The tide was out so we had to walk out for quite a distance to get some water to splash in and as we walked we were really struck with how big and vast the wide horseshoe shaped bay is. Truly impressive!
So really, this isn't really a fun or full length post with secret hints and tips - just our experience in an evening on Uig Sands!
