Ben A'an Hike on a Very Changeable Day!

 Near the end of summer, before we decided to start bagging some munros we decided to ease back into hiking by climbing Ben A'an.

Perhaps rather naively due to the close proximity to Glasgow we weren't the only ones who headed to Ben A'an!  Not only was the path busy, but the parking was hoaching! 

But, when we managed to wangle a car park we headed up on to the path.  And be warned - this short walk is actually super steep! For me, I am not a fan of steep walks, particularly ones which are steep as soon as you get out the car and you've not even warmed up yet. 

However, Tilly doesn't seem to mind at all! We also had Hetty with us, who was really up for the walk!

It was a really nice day, and I was able to start my walk in my good weather gear - a Berghaus zippy (affiliate link), Acai trousers (Refer a Friend link to get 10% off) and usual ASOLO hiking boots (on sale). 

This is really my usual kit, and the stuff you see me in all the time.  However, if you would like a review of any of my kit - particularly from a curvy/plus-sized and tall hiker! 

However, the rain came on quick and a lot of it!  Unfortunately Hetty is very much a fair weather hiker and as I put my rucksack (Montane affiliate link, if you're interested, but not a great fit for me) on the ground to get my shell out (it's great here, affiliate) she jumped in!  Once she was in the rucksack and all wet she wasn't up for coming out again.
