Beauty Tips To Tackle Autumn

Wow, can you believe that it is October already?  It is officially October and that means we are well on our way into Autumn- brrrr.  That means we need Autumn specific beauty tips and tricks!
We all know Autumn brings its own beauty challenges- there is a combination of quick changes in weather and temperature as well as wind and rain that just kills my skin!  To tackle this I have some handy Autumn-specific tips!

Lip Balm
The first thing I notice in the change in temperature is my lips starting to feel a little drier.  I always have a couple of lip balms on me!

The best lip balm I have ever tried is this one from Nuxe.  You can get it from loads of places but I got the link from Feel Unique because it is such a handy website for beauty stuffs!

I discovered the Nuxe Reve de Miel Baume Levres when I was in France (you might have seen me hauling this from a French Pharmacie here).  And it is honestly the best lip balm I have ever tried!  It's a bit expensive for a lip balm (around the £10 mark) but it's amazing.  It is so rich and long lasting- I can put the lip balm on at night and it usually last until late afternoon!

A few of my favourite lip balms:

Upgrade Your Moisturiser and Night Routine
Autumn for me means a change in my moisturiser, I need something a little richer!  This is a bit tricky for me as I have a lot of skin problems (see here if you also think having acne in your 20's suck!) so I need to be careful with what I use.

I have recently switched to the Bioderma Hydrabio Legere here (bought in a different French Pharma Haul here) and I really like how light it feels on the skin but still being a nice, rich moisturiser.

Over the summer I get a little lax with my night routine but I need to get back into it for Autumn.  You will want a nice night cream or oil, I am personally using the Caudalie Overnight Detox Oil and I am really loving it but there are loads out there!

Assess Your Hair Routine
My hair always takes a beating in Autumn and Winter, so I like to combat it with weekly hair masks.  Although there are loads of masks out there I like to make my own!

Easy Hair Mask:
- Loads of olive oil
- A couple of eggs if you have them (very optional)
Pop the olive oil in the microwave to warm it up then beat the eggs into it.  You want it nice and warm because it opens up the cuticles in your hair.
Then wrap a towel around your shoulders and work the mask into your hair.
Then wrap your hair up in a towel and leave it for 45 minutes.
Then jump into the shower and wash your hair like normal!

I also use some Moroccan Oil (here) every time I wash my hair.

Exfoliate Exfoliate!
I am so bad at skipping exfoliators for both my face and my body but they really make a difference at removing rough and dull patches.

Hand Cream
When I was younger I would completely ignore my hands, they were always completely fine!  But now that I am 22 (I know I am still young, but I've noticed the difference) I occasionally get dry patches on the backs of my hands.

I like to keep a hand cream on my desk and use it when it feels like I need it- about once a week.  I am currently using Green Hands from Lush which I got in France  and doesn't seem to be available in the UK. I also keep a mini pink grapefruit scented hand cream from The Body Shop (here).

When using hand cream I also like to use it on my elbows (depending on the clothes I am wearing) and enjoy massaging it in!

So there you have it!  My top Autumn beauty tips, I hope they were useful!  What's your best Autumn beauty tip?  Let me know down below!
