As you might have seen over on Twitter and Instagram I recently got a new puppy!
Isn't she gorgeous? I am incredibly excited about her and thought I would introduce her to you (my blogging friends).
This is Hetty the long haired miniature dachshund!
I didn't really want to mention the fact that I was getting a puppy too much on social media etc because I didn't want to jinx it!
I thought long and hard about getting a puppy and weighed up the different options to find something that is right for me and the dog. I didn't take the process of getting a dog or living with a dog for the next 10-15 years lightly.
I also think I should really mention (to try and counteract some possible possible criticism) that I didn't get a dachshund for the "fashion" value. I know a lot of people buy dogs/puppies because the breed is really in fashion. I would like to say that is not the case for me, my family have had dachshunds in the past. We actually rescued a pair of dachshunds, which was my first experience of owning the long bodied, small legged goodies!
On the second point of rescue vs bought puppy, I thought a lot about rescuing a dog or puppy. However for a number of reasons (which I won't go into right now) I decided to get a puppy. I might make a talky video or blog post soon to discuss these sort of things if people would be interested in it.
However this is a happy post where I'm showing you the cutest puppy in the world!
If you want to keep up to date with Hetty I have made her her own social media stuff.
