Parc de la Tete d'Or in Lyon, France

Lyon is usually seen as the second city of France, and Parc de la Tete d'Or is the biggest park in Lyon.  It's chuck-a-block full of things to do and see and is definitely worth a visit if you are in Lyon- especially in the summer when the weather is nice.

The great thing about the park is it's massive!  And it's free!  This is a few days entertainment for the family for nothing!

You can get a bus directly to the gate and then explore to your heart's content.

There is a huge lake and loads of greenery to walk around- you'll often see joggers and dog walkers stretching their legs or tourists boating on the lake.

My favourite part about the lake is that you can climb under the lake and up into an island in the middle of the lake which gives you a great view.

As well as two rose gardens which are a bit quieter to sit and enjoy.

My favourite part about it has got to be the small zoo.  It's free as well and a lot of fun - it's not like a massive city zoo but it's got quite a few animals and it's fun to walk around in.

My boyfriend's favourite animal is this horse - I swear he sounds like a 7 year old girl when he talks about her, "Her tail is long and blonde, and so long it almost touches the floor."  Seriously, this guy...

My favourite part is the deer park- I just love how delicate but agile deer are!

There's so much more to explore in the park and I really recommend it!  It's perfect for families, couples or just if you want to escape work and eat lunch.

Here are a few more of my pictures, hope you like them!
