Leaping Salmon at Rogie Falls

 Seeing Scottish salmon leaping upstream in real life was actually amazing for me!  I really didn't expect to be so enthralled watching the wee fish leap and swim, and it was like watching a documentary in real life!

What made it even better is that we totally weren't expecting to see anything! 

We had actually just finished climbing the munro Ben Wyvis the day before and so were meandering back down to Glasgow.  We're a sucker for a brown sign, so when we saw something with the word "Falls" in it we stopped, hoping for an impressive waterfall. 

We weren't disappointed at Rogie Falls, the walk was nice and short and very easy (just what I needed after the munro!).  And there were some lovely layered waterfalls. 

So when we spotted the salmon we got pretty excited and just started watching for them!  It was after heavy rain, so it was mad and hardly any salmon actually made it up.  But wow!
