Hiking in Cloud Cover in the Faroe Islands - Not Getting That Fjord Photo

Going to the Faroe Islands, we had an idea of a few photos we wanted to capture in our style.  Most of them were successful - like the seastacks

However, we had one photo that evaded us **that fjord photo**

In this photo you have the lake surrounded by the edges of the fjord and it looks amazing - here it is on insta:

So, with some sleuthing we found the location, where to park, etc. and we set off!

Despite some kind of dodgy hair pin turns we found the parking spot - and we were in a cloud.  Not to be deterred we kitted up and started hiking, hoping it would clear at some point...

The hike was short but very steep and took us about an hour - all still in cloud.  We found a couple of spots we wanted to take the shot from and sat down and waited.  An hour later we were still in cloud.

Determined not to walk away yet we decided to drop down a few times, hoping we were just in the cloud and it would clear.  Unfortunately it didn't, so we just headed back!

The cloud didn't actually clear at all that day - from the coast line to the hills there was no getting away from it.  We tried to go to Gjogv which was also in the cloud/fog!

But on the upside, it was still good to be hiking and also my first time in a white out!  Which was good to be in such a safe walking environment to experience it for the first time.
