Patagonia Down Sweater Review

I've had my Patagonia Down Sweater for two years and this is my third winter in it, so I'm well qualified to share my review of it now!

Spoiler - I love it

Fit and Sizing
In terms of fit and sizing there is great variety in women's outdoorswear - especially when compared to men's clothing - which can be tricky in finding the brands that work for you.

Patagonia is a brand that fits me and I enjoy them - I tend to need climbing brands such as Patagonia to get the longer arms and body because I'm tall.  I'm also curvy, which means I need a brand which recognises that not everyone is straight up and down!

Patagonia fits me well, and the down sweater fits true to size within their sizing guide.  I ordered online and it fitted me perfectly first time.

Warmth and Wearabilty
If you're looking for a warm down jacket this is the one for you!  It's not Arctic standard - which means it's very wearable in Britain.

In terms of warmth the 800 fill down means it's some of the best you can get - and the down is Globally Traceable.  I have worn the jacket consistently throughout the past couple of years and have never been left feeling cold in it.

It's great as an outerlayer if it's cold and dry and layers well under a shell if you need something waterproof on top.  I'm particularly glad that I went for the Sweater rather than the Hoody option, as I think the hood would add additional and uncomfortable bulk.

Quality and Price
In terms of overall quality and price, this is not an entry level down jacket which means it's not cheap.  However it is a very good quality jacket at a reasonable price of £200 - although it is often significantly cheaper with sales and offers on particular colours on the Patagonia website or the gizillion suppliers that are out there.

One of the reasons I think Patagonia are reasonably priced is their commitments to ethical business, which you can read about here.

Would I re-Buy?
YES, this is a staple in my wardrobe (for everyday and exploring) and if you fancy trying it out, there are a few links below or here
