Kilchurn Castle on the Loch

Kilchurn Castle is one of those iconic castles which looks remote and hard to find as it overlooks a loch.  However it is actually really easy to find - but not the way you expect! 

The "normal" way is to park by the castle and then walk around the castle ruins itself. 

BUT if you want those loch views you actually have to drive around the loch, and park on the side of the road.  You then walk through a fence (you'll know which one because there is a sign on it) and then follow the temporary path over the mud to fields and down to the water.  

Then you get these views!  And no crowds, AND some fun wee walks to enjoy as well!
